EPDM is available to order at all National Plastics depots, and is also stocked and available to take away the same day at many of our depots. Our expert teams are able to offer help and advice on a wide range of EPDM, from one-piece membrane by ClassicBond, to self-adhesive membranes by Resitrix.
First introduced in the 1960’s, EPDM rubber (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is one of the fastest growing roof coverings in the world. In its typical form for roofing applications, EPDM sheeting is a cured, or vulcanized material and is thus classified as a thermoset. Simply defined, this means that the polymer’s molecular structure is set as a result of heating during the manufacturing process. The chains of the polymer are joined together, or cross linked. By the time the finished membrane is packaged for shipping, it is fully cured. Uncured EPDM membranes are sometimes used for flashings; but this material will eventually cure as it naturally ages under the exposure to UV light and heat.
Easy to install; the simple installation of our one piece EPDM system makes it very popular to many and can be walked upon (light foot traffic) for maintenance needs.
Flexible; the flexibility and endurance of EPDM membranes is one of the reasons why it is becoming ever popular as a roof covering.
Durable; If you need a bit more durability our RESITRIX Self Adhesive EPDM and DuoPly Fleece Reinforced EPDM can be walked upon with medium to heavy foot traffic.
We believe our product is exceptional in both quality and performance, coupled with our excellent technical knowledge and first class after sales service, we are confident you will be satisfied with National Plastics EPDM ranges.
